Old Moville Boys School destroyed by fire

Old Boys School in Moville
The Old Moville Boys School was destroyed by fire last early this morning around 4 am. The local fire service from Moville, backed by the Carndonagh fire service and with the aid of a platform from HQ managed to contain and eventually put out the fire.

The school known locally as St Joseph’ s Boys National School opened in 1947. It has been closed in recent years as it was amalgamated into Scoil Eoghain when it joined with St. Brigid’s Girls National School. It was due to be taken over by the Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail.

Its not known what may have caused the fire at the old Moville Boys  School yet, but an Garda Síochána were at the scene and investigations have probably begun.

The Moville fire service have posted some fantastic photos of the fire and their efforts at bringing it under control on their Facebook page.
