SAINT PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATIONS IN MOVILLE
The Saint Patrick’s Day 2017 parade in Moville this year got under way beneath a sky full of grey clouds, wind and heavy rain but even the wind and rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd as the floats and marching bands made their way through the inclement weather to the cheers of the watching families and onlookers.
There was the usual fine variety of floats and marching bands this year in the Moville parade that came from far and wide including some excellent topical and funny floats from local businesses which included a well know first time visitor to Moville in the form of President Donald Trump all the way from the Whitehouse in Washington.
Saint Patrick himself looked like he could have used an umbrella and probably wished that he had banished the rain instead of the snakes from the Emerald Isle but everyone who took part in the floats, bands and the parade did so with smiles on their faces despite the bad weather on the day.
Here’s hoping that the sun will shine down on Saint Patrick and Moville for next year’s parade but even if it doesn’t, the people of Moville will still turn out to support the parade and the local groups who put in so much hard work every year to make it all happen and enjoy the big day and the show will go on no matter what the weather!.
